A slice of heaven, the heart of Scotland has a lot to see, admire and do!
The Fair City
A 40-minute drive, the city of Perth is the perfect day-out. Marvel at the Stone of Destiny at Perth Museum and muse over local and international art at Perth Art Gallery. Step back in time at Scone Palace where you can admire the state rooms of Queen Victoria, the craft of Mary Queen of Scots and enchanting woodlands. Retreat to the 12th century in your visit to Black Watch Castle and Museum, a great place to learn about Scotland’s oldest Highland Regiment. End your day of exploring with some music or theatre at Perth Concert Hall followed by a drink at The Old Ship Inn.
Galivanting and Glens
Perthshire is the traveller's dream for rolling hills, lochs and ancient castles. If you fancy a challenge, the best way to see Perthshire’s breathtaking beauty is the Cateran Trail – a 64-mile circular walking route which can be joined at any stage! Perthshire is also famous for its big trees boasting 200,000 acres of woodland and a plethora of enchanting walks. Less than an hour away sits the Cairngorms National Park, filled with mountains and hills in the Scottish Highlands – explore it by bike or on foot
The Great Outdoors
The Perthshire playground is the ideal place for you to have some fun and make the most of your stay. Shooting is a popular sport in Perthshire, whether it's deer stalking or grouse shooting the epic sprawling country is the perfect backdrop. For something a little calmer, the River Tay boasts the greatest flow of any river in Europe and is a fisherman’s dream! You can sling your hook from Monday to Saturday – but there’s no salmon fishing in Scotland on Sunday!
