Bethlem Museum of the Mind is one of its most visited spots in Beckenham and offers an extensive history of mental health and recovery along with interesting, free exhibitions of artwork and research - all housed within gorgeous Art Deco architecture. One described as “up and coming”, it’s fair to say Brixton has now established itself as one of the best places to go in South London. From the iconic Electric Avenue to the Ritzy Cinema, there are loads of attractions, not to mention a huge choice of cafes and restaurants. The area still celebrates its Caribbean roots and there is music playing regularly across Brixton Market along with the intoxicating aromas of the street food, as well as the indoor village of Pop Brixton.
